Woman Cited In Three DWI Crashes In Three Hours

A 21-year-old Verona woman was cited for drinking and driving after three crashes Oct. 26 in both Green and Dane Counties.

A 35-year-old woman was driving with her infant when she was nearly hit head-on by Danielle S. Kraus on Highway J. Officials said the drunk driver was driving the wrong-way straight toward her, when she swerved and Kraus hit a side mirror just before 1 p.m.
Then just before 3:30 the Green County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a single-vehicle crash in Adams. By the time officials arrived, others had helped the driver out of the ditch. Officials said it was Kraus and she had left the scene.

Finally, about 3:45 both Dane and Green County officials were called out on a head-on crash on Highway JG. Officials said Kraus had crossed into oncoming traffic again and hit a vehicle head-on. The other driver had minor injuries. She was cited for causing injuries by intoxication as well as failure to maintain control of her vehicle, driving left of the center line, and hit-and-run involving an occupied vehicle.
