Attorney Brett A. Eckstein has dedicated his career to representing clients in need of experienced personal injury, appellate, and civil rights legal representation. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Marquette University Law School, where he was a member of the Moot Court, the Marquette Law Review, and was on the dean’s list. Following his graduation, Mr. Eckstein worked as a law clerk under Wisconsin Court of Appeals Chief Judge R. Thomas Cane and Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Louis B. Butler, Jr.

Brett Eckstein is a shareholder of Cannon & Dunphy and has practiced at the firm’s Brookfield office since 2005. He is a first-generation lawyer and has dedicated his entire career to representing clients who need help in personal injury cases. He graduated with honors from Marquette University in 2000 with dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Criminology & Law Studies and History. He earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School in 2003, where he graduated third in his class. Following graduation, Brett worked as a law clerk at the Wisconsin Court of Appeals for Chief Judge R. Thomas Cane and then at the Wisconsin Supreme Court for Justice Louis B. Butler, Jr.

Over the past two decades, he has represented hundreds of those injured through the fault of someone else. Brett handles all types of cases, from wrongful death claims, automobile accidents, and slip and falls, to the most legally challenging cases, including legal malpractice, accounting malpractice, and consumer class actions. Given this varied practice, Brett was the first attorney to successfully sue the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association for denying a student eligibility to participate in varsity sports under the “transfer rule,” and his most recent verdict of $15 million was obtained on behalf of a resident at a senior living home who died when a retaining wall collapsed on her, resulting in her death. Outside of his practice, Brett is involved in several legal organizations, including the Waukesha County Bar Association, the Wisconsin State Bar, and the Wisconsin Association for Justice. Brett is married and has two children. When not working, he enjoys skiing with his family, furniture-making, and woodworking.
