During her time at Cannon & Dunphy, Julie has worked closely with partners Brett Eckstein and Allan Foeckler on many of their largest and most complex cases, helping to ensure no stone is left unturned either at the trial or appellate level. These include medical records class action cases that have resulted in multiple multi-million-dollar settlements, multi-million-dollar settlements in catastrophic car and motorcycle wrecks, and a $15 million verdict in Ozaukee County for the victim of a wall collapse. Additionally, Julie has worked with Al and Brett on utilizing big data studies to develop litigation strategies; spearheading the use of this research in the state of Wisconsin.
Through her work on these cases and others, Julie has developed a unique expertise in several discrete areas of the law including: class actions, the Blackstonian doctrine, the builder’s statute of repose, negligent infliction of emotional distress claims under Bowen, and conscious pain and suffering claims.
Julie has not forgotten her legal and personal roots and continues to work with Legal Action of Wisconsin volunteering at pro bono clinics and taking on pro bono pardon application cases. She also volunteers her time outside of work to act as a coach, often for multiple teams a year, with Marquette University Law School’s Moot Court program, helping to shape the next generation of litigators.
Julie’s achievements have not gone unnoticed by her peers as she was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2025.
